Goa - Get, Set, Goa

Ready to script a hat-trick is Venkat Prabhu. After having given hits like ‘Chennai 600028’ and ‘Saroja’, the filmmaker is now busy with ‘Goa’, produced by Soundarya Rajinikanth for Ocher Studios.

He has written the story, screenplay besides directing the movie. "Everyone keeps marching ahead in life with lots of expectations, but many a times, the unexpected happens, which ends up being much better than the expected," this is what the film is all about, he says.

"The name ‘Goa’ reminds one of joy, fun and entertainment. The movie will be a joyful ride for the audience. Hence, the title Goa," he informs.

Jai, Premji Amaran, Vaibhav, Sampath, Sneha play lead roles in ‘Goa’. The film has musical score by Yuvan Shankar Raja. Sakthi Saravanan does the cinematography while stunts are by Selva.

Confirming reports that she is doing a role with negative shades in the film, Sneha says, "It is a first-of-its kind role in Tamil cinema. I am very much impressed by my character and accepted to do the role immediately after Venkat narrated me the story."

Says producer Soundarya, “I like the story that Venkat Prabhu narrated because it was so vibrant and young. Yuvan Shankar Raja will score the music for this film and I am sure the young will relate to it just like they did with ‘Chennai 28’ and ‘Saroja’.”

The team of ‘Goa’ recently returned to Chennai from Malaysia. They had been to the abroad country for the shoot and they are back after completing some important scenes.

The film is said to have a total of seven songs with ten tracks, including the theme music. Interestingly, one of the numbers will be sung by the winner of Vijay TV Super singer.

‘Goa’ is expected to hit the screens in December. Now, our Superstar’s birthday too falls in the same month. Wonder whether it is a coincidence or something else? For, the movie is his daughter’s venture.

Asal - They are back

If there is one person other than Ajith who can make the actor’s fans happy, it is none other than Saran. Whenever the filmmaker joined hands with the ‘Ultimate Star’, the output was a blockbuster.

Fourth in the line from the duo (after Kadhal Mannan, Amarkkalam and Attagasam) is Asal, a movie produced by Sivaji Films, one of the reputed production houses in Tamil industry. The action-entertainer has two heroines- Sameera Reddy and Bhavana.

Asal’s success was predicted by Superstar Rajinikanth at the launch of the movie itself. The top actor, who was the chief guest of the function said, “When I was down after ‘Baba’ debacle, Ramkumar and Prabhu, sons of Sivaji Ganesan, did ‘Chandramukhi’ with me. The rest is all history. I hope that ‘Asal’ would repeat the magic of Chandramukhi”.

Ask Saran about the film, he says, “Asal is an Asal Thala film and Asal commercial film. It will be a glossy mass entertainer, with all necessary ingredients that an Ajith film need. I am sure that the movie would satisfy the fans of the actor.”

Ajith, who of late believes in making his films to do the talking, says, “The script is so interesting. Equally is the making of Saran. We all are putting our best efforts to make ‘Asal’ a thorough entertainer.”

Music composer of the movie Bharadwaj says, “The highlight of the album is the introduction song of Ajith, sung by 100 people together. Since it is a film to be shot predominantly abroad, I have not opted for ‘kuthu’ numbers. Instead, they will be trendy.”

He adds: “All my songs in Ajith - Saran combination (Kadhal Mannan, Amarkalam and Attagasam) have topped the charts. The onus is on me to deliver this time too.” The onus is equally on Ajith-Saran too, you can say.

Sun Pictures | acquires Vettaikkaaran

Kollywood's prominent production and distribution house Sun Pictures has acquired the release rights of Ilayathalapathi Vijay's forthcoming Vettaikkaaran, directed by debutant Babu Sivan (an erstwhile associate of director Dharani) with Tollywood damsel Anushka as heroine. Hansraj Saxena of Sun Pictures recently signed the deal with the film's producer AVM Productions for acquiring the rights.

After the disappointing run of his Kuruvi and Villu, Vijay has pinned his hopes on Vettaikkaaran, based on the story of an energetic young man and his angst against the baddies in the society. According to sources, Vijay plays an auto rickshaw driver who works hard to bring justice to innocent people.

With 90% of the shooting completed, director Babu Sivan has confirmed the film’s release for Deepavali. The film has music by rock composer Vijay Antony. Cinematography is by Gopinath and editing is by V.T. Vijayan.

Nayan to act with Salman?

After Asin’s massive success with Gajini, the stars popularity rose multifold. Now another south Indian star Trisha has endeavor into Bollywood with Priyadarshan’s Katta Meeta. Initially, Trisha denied the reports, but now with the project finalized she is planning to shift base to Mumbai, it is reported.
With Asin and Trisha in Mumbai with their Bollywood dreams, there are rumors that Nayantara will act with Salman Khan which is planned to be directed by Prabhu Deva.
Prabhu deva is already directing the Hindi version of Pokkri with Salman in the lead.

Great news for Illeana Fans. She is going to act with Vikram. Vikram’s new film is Irubathi Nalu, which is going to be directed by Vikram Kumar (Yavarum Nalam Director). Illeana gave her consent to act with Vikram in Tamil film.

7 Things I liked about | Kanthaswamy

1. The concept

Kanthaswamy might not be the first movie to say this, but it is definitely an idea that deserves to be told time and again until we are close to realizing it. Uneven accumulation of wealth is one issue that has been hampering our development for decades. Statistics put India right at the top of the list of countries which have personal deposits in Swiss banks. The rest of the world would not be able to outweigh India in terms of black money, some say. The movie also emphasizes that accrual of illegal money gives unwarranted powers to few who feel no remorse in misusing it. So, Kanthaswamy indeed raises a pertinent point.

2. The Style

We always knew that Vikram was a class actor, but we never knew that he could be so stylish. Anniyan’s Remo is perhaps the only character he had played which has

emphasis on style. But, Kanthaswamy has outdone all that. The blazers and the coolers sit perfectly on Vikram and he carries them off with élan. The costumer must be applauded for some excellent work.

3. The leading lady

Well, Shriya has always been a soft target for those who don’t like the conventional arm candy type of heroines, Kanthaswamy has been no different. But, there is more to her performance in the movie than the petty criticisms. First, she is playing the daughter of a multi millionaire and she has brought out that haughty demeanor in a great way. The high handedness, the attitude and overconfident body language are all present. Of course, her dance movements will be setting new benchmarks for leading ladies in Tamil cinema, watch the final portions of the ‘Allegra’ song to understand fully what has been said.

4. The visuals

For a film that has been called run of the mill commercial stuff, the camera department has been daringly different. No one can remember an Indian film that had opted for a yellow tone throughout. We have had shades of blue and other pleasing colors at best, but yellow is definitely a new experience. Only Hollywood has tried this before. The scenes in Mexico, especially the aerial shot of three hummers atop a bridge, are extremely well taken.

5. The sets

The art department must be applauded for creating some sets that appear very genuine, especially the interiors of the CBI office, the interrogation room and other such small touches.

6. The songs

Richly shot, peppy and well placed; the songs of Kanthaswamy are really a highlight of the film. Be it the racy ‘Allegra’, the conversation type ‘Excuse Me’ or the raunchy ‘Meeow Meeow’, all catch the eye.

7. The Places

Susi Ganesan has globe trotted for Kanthaswamy. The locations are ones that have never been seen before; full credit to the team for unearthing such unseen locations and bringing them onto screen. Thanks to Kalaipuli Thanu for showing faith in the director and giving him all that he needed to make the spectacle possible.

Raavan Shooting At Athirapally Forest | Ash And Mani

Director Mani Ratnam’s and his team is busy in shooting the film “Ravan” in the Athirappally forests, Thrissur District, Kerala. Naan Avan Illai-2 | Jeevan |Story And Stills

Vijay Special In | Vettaikaran

Music Director Vijay Anony who has recently composed three songs for the film Vettaikaran with Illayathalapathy in the lead role. As a change the introducing song featuring Vijay and Anuska was picturised in the outskirts of Rajamundry. Sanjay, Vijay's son also gae some rollicking steps in the song. The movie is directed by Babu Sivan.

As expected the song will be according to the Music Director will be blockbuster hit. We wish the entire team all the very best for a grand success- especially Vijay for his excellent dance movements and his flip tonged dialogue delivery.

Radharavi reasonable anger over rahman

Radharavi on behalf of South Indian Artists Association had invited A R Rahman to honour his Oscar endeavour.

But AR Rahman failed to give a date for the occasion and that has angered Radha Ravi and he took the opportunity to vent his anger.

Condemning Rahman's behaviour, during the audio launch of a film titled Mandapam, actor Radharavi was more enraged against A.R. Rahman saying, ‘I would like to make it clear that Rahman’s debut was Roja and not Slumdog Millionaire. He was introduced by Kavithalaya Productions, a Tamil film production company.

But today, he has refused to acknowledge it by giving priorities merely to money.

Sridevi In Tamil Film ?

Dhanush next film is “Mappillai”. This is the remake of Rajin’s “Mappillai”. Haniska Motwani is the heroine in the film. The earlier “Mappillai” Amala was the heroine. The story of this film is clash between wealthy mother-in-law and his poor son-in-law. Mother-in-law character is done by Srividya.

Endhiran | Rajini Teaches Aishwarya Rai Tamil
